Optimus Care's - Services

Welcome to our Service directory.

At Optimus care, we partner closely with Local Authorities and social work commissioners to deliver robust, evidence-based residential care and therapeutic interventions for children and young people with complex needs.

We recognize that finding the right placement is critical to a child’s long-term stability and healing. By embedding clinical psychology and therapeutic parenting models into the very fabric of our daily care, we create an integrated, trauma-informed ecosystem capable of safely managing and treating severe emotional-behavioural difficulties, attachment disruption, and exploitation risks. Whether facilitating a meticulously matched long-term home or providing an immediate, high-safeguarding emergency placement equipped with rapid clinical assessment windows, our mission remains absolute: to deliver the safety, clinical insight, and structural stability required to transform young lives and achieve measurable, positive outcomes.

Therapeutic Parenting & Daily Care

We believe that sustainable healing happens in the environment where a child lives, not just in a therapy room. Our day-to-day care is grounded in evidence-based therapeutic parenting models that actively enhance emotional security and behavioural outcomes.

The PACE Approach

Our residential teams are deeply trained in PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy). This relational model allows staff to connect with a child's internal emotional state before addressing their external behaviour.

Therapeutic Environment

We consciously structure daily routines—from mealtimes to bedtimes—to reduce anxiety and create an atmosphere of safety. Every interaction is viewed as an opportunity to repair early relational trauma.

 Empowering Resilience

By blending high-quality care with psychological insights, we help children build emotional regulation skills, develop self-esteem, and rewrite their internal models of how adults treat them.

Specialist Care for Complex Needs

Our team is highly trained and experienced in supporting children and young people facing complex, interconnected vulnerabilities. We don't just manage behaviours; we seek to understand the underlying trauma driving them.

We provide robust, tailored support for:

HSB (Harmful Sexual Behaviour)

Delivering specialized, non-punitive boundaries and interventions designed to minimize risk, promote healthy sexual boundaries, and address root causes.

CSE & CCE (Child Sexual / Criminal Exploitation)

Disrupting patterns of exploitation through intensive relational work, high-vigilance safeguarding, and rebuilding the young person's sense of self-worth.

CCA (Complex Childhood Trauma and Abuse)

Supporting children who have experienced chronic neglect, physical, or emotional abuse, helping them process profound loss and attachment disruption.

 EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties)

Working with children who present with severe emotional dysregulation, self-harm, or challenging behaviours, providing a calm anchor in times of crisis.

Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) Orders:

Caring for young people subject to High Court DoL orders (often referred to within local authorities as DoLS orders). We are fully equipped to manage and implement legally authorized restrictions—such as enhanced 1:1 or 2:1 staffing, monitored technology access, and escorted community transitions—while working aggressively to reduce restrictions over time as the child stabilizes.

How We Do This

We utilize a multi-agency approach. We pair rigorous, proactive safety planning with deep therapeutic work, ensuring that risk management never compromises a child's dignity or therapeutic growth.

Clinical Psychology & Trauma-Informed Care

We embed clinical expertise directly into the fabric of our homes. Rather than treating therapy as an isolated, weekly appointment, we use a systemic approach to build a completely trauma-informed ecosystem around the child.

Dedicated Psychological Oversight

We have direct access to a dedicated team of clinical and therapeutic psychologists who oversee the care strategy for each young person.

 Systemic Consultation

Our psychologists provide regular clinical consultation to our residential teams. This allows staff to reflect on complex behaviors, process their own emotional responses, and fine-tune their care strategies.

 Mental Health Foundations

We focus heavily on psychological stabilization. By helping children make sense of their past, we give them the psychological foundation needed to engage with formal education and social life.

Psychological Assessments & Professional Training

To ensure our interventions are effective, our service is backed by robust clinical insights and continuous professional development.

 Comprehensive Clinical Assessments

We have access to skilled clinicians who deliver a wide range of psychological, developmental, attachment, and risk-based assessments. These assessments help identify underlying neurodevelopmental needs, cognitive profiles, or mental health conditions.

 Bespoke Training Programmes

Our clinicians design and deliver specialist training packages not only for our own staff but also for wider professional networks, foster carers, and birth families. This ensures that everyone surrounding the child speaks the exact same therapeutic language.

Bespoke Interventions & Phased Pathways

Every child’s journey is entirely unique, which is why we do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We offer highly individualized care packages that adapt as the child grows, heals, and builds autonomy.

 Tailored Interventions

Based on the child’s specific strengths and cognitive profile, we build bespoke intervention plans that utilize creative, sensory, and talking therapies suited to their developmental age.

Phased System to Completion

We guide children through a structured, phased therapeutic model:

Phase 1: Safety & Stabilization  Establishing physical and emotional safety.

Phase 2: Integration & Processing

Working through past trauma and building regulation tools.

Phase 3: Transition & Autonomy

Preparing the young person for step-down care, foster placements, or independent living.

Placement Matching & Emergency Provision

We understand that placement stability is vital for a child’s healing, which is why our admissions process is exceptionally thorough, while remaining agile enough to respond to immediate crises.

Robust Placement Matching

Before any child joins us, we conduct a detailed matching risk assessment to ensure that our environment, staff skill-set, and current resident group are compatible with the incoming child's profile.

 Short-Term & Emergency Care

We have the capability and operational flexibility to facilitate short-term and emergency placements for children in acute crisis or experiencing sudden placement breakdowns.

 Emergency Assessment Windows

We do not view an emergency placement as just a holding exercise. During these intense short-term periods, we utilize our clinical access to conduct rapid, comprehensive diagnostic and psychological assessments. This allows us to provide local authorities with a clear, professional roadmap and recommendations for the child’s long-term placement needs.
